Tolt and Chargebee
Does Tolt work with Chargebee?
Yes. Tolt integrates with Chargebee, Stripe and Paddle, so your SaaS can run its affiliate program on whichever one it bills with.

How do affiliate transactions work with Chargebee?
Chargebee doesn’t support affiliate transactions on its own, so you’ll need a third party like Tolt. An affiliate adds their unique tracking link to their website, blog or social media, which brings the customer to your website to buy. Tolt saves the referral on the customer in Chargebee and turns every payment into the affiliate’s commission.
Which Chargebee events does Tolt listen to?
Seven, sent to Tolt’s webhook on API version 2: subscription created, started, activated, deleted and canceled, payment succeeded and payment refunded.
What happens if a customer cancels or requests a refund?
As soon as Chargebee notifies us that one of your customers has canceled their subscription, we stop calculating commissions for their affiliate. And on refunds, we deduct the commission from the affiliate.

Setting up
How long does it take to set up?
About 15 minutes: add the tracking script, send the referral to Chargebee and add Tolt’s webhook. You can always reach us on live chat, and we can set up Chargebee together.

Does it work with the drop-in checkout and the API?
Yes. With Chargebee’s drop-in script, create a customer custom field named cf_tolt_referral and a few lines on your page fill it in. With the API, your backend adds the referral to the customer’s meta_data when it creates them.
How do I test the integration?
Create a test affiliate in your portal, visit your site through their link and make a purchase. Test with real payments, or set up the webhook in Chargebee’s test mode and switch back to live when you’re done.
Testing the integrationCan I track sign-ups before they pay?
Yes. When someone who came through a partner’s link signs up, call tolt.signup with their email: they join that partner’s customers as a lead, and turn active once their subscription starts.
